BukowskisMouse said: If the legend if Korra is successful, which it already had proven to be with 3 seasons, they will make another avatar, starring an earth bender. If that is successful, they will most like make a final series with a fire bending avatar main character, bring the show full circle. The avatar following Korra then would be an Earth-bender, and the series could follow this one. Earth-benders often have a secondary ability to bend metal. For the setting, while the first series was more or less medieval, and the second series had more or less an Industrial Revolution kind of spin, the third series could go with a retrofuturistic sort of feel. Avatar isn't a series, it's a universe. The Last Airbender of The Legend of Korra are series. Both of those series end when they complete their story, but there is no reason to not create more stories in the huge universe of Avatar.
There is no right answer to this. Call it what you will. The fact remains Anime == Cartoons. In Japan all cartoons are anime. In Korea, aeni, in China, donghua.
People call it by the word from their respective nation because it distinguishes. It's what makes a Deep-Dish pizza different form a Sicilian pizza. Both are pizza, but quite different from one another. There is a designation, Avatar is simply an anime-style of animation. If I made a Turkish lamb hamburger with walnut-based sauce. All the spices and ingredients might taste Turkish, but you know a hamburger is not at all Turkish. – Feb 22 '15 at 16:22 •.
